University students must pay all costs associated with their education, because it benefits mostly them individually, rather than the society as a whole. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion. 

It is argued that individuals have to pay their university fees on their own, as they receive the most benefits of the education. To some extent, I agree with this view, however, I believe that the society should cover the tuition fees as well.

Admittedly, some people contend that students must bear the school fees by themselves, since studying higher education is for their own sake, not for the communities. In fact, many youngsters go to college for their future careers, not for society. In addition, some students in Japan, unfortunately, do not study enthusiastically, and spend their time playing or working at part-time jobs. Accordingly, it is not necessary that the society have a responsibility to support students’ self-centered interests. Additionally, it should not pay the cost for tedious students.

Nevertheless, despite these opinions above, I opine that the government should cover the educational fees. Firstly, nowadays, some people whose families do not have enough earnings can not go to university because of expensive tuition fees and economic depression. As a result, talented youth from low income families do not tend to be able to gain a higher education. It is a grave social loss. Secondly, students may return profits, such as knowledge and skills which they acquired at colleges, to society. It may lead to an increase in productivity in the social economy.

In conclusion, although it is reasonable that paying educational cost must be imposed on students personally, in my opinion, societies should pay the educational expenses partially in terms of fair educational opportunities and social development.
