Some people think that city planners should consider creating more green spaces and planting trees, while others argue that they should focus on building new homes. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is argued by some that it is necessary to think about increasing green spaces and planting vegetation, whereas others believe that constructing houses is the more important matter. Although both remarks have beneficial reasons, I opine that expanding green areas is more vital.

Admittedly, some citizens contend that architects should concentrate on construction of new housing because there is a shortage of accommodation. For instance, recently, many people have moved from rural districts to metro cities because of the centralization of business. As the population of the big cities have been growing, providing houses for them is a grave issue. On the other hand, in local cities, depopulation is a crucial problem, which may lead to shrinkage of localities. To redevelop those areas, the local governments have been trying to invite companies and may need to erect new residential areas for migrants.

Nevertheless, in my opinion, enlarging green spaces is more essential in terms of protection of the environment, since decrease in the forest area is one of the biggest global issues. The human species are faced with environmental destruction caused by deforestation. As the settlement against this problem, the greening is propelled around the world. Firstly, it is said that greening can prevent the development of global warming. Secondly, planting trees may mitigate the heat island phenomenon. Finally, the increase in green places may sustain biodiversity. Accordingly, it is essential for global environment to plant trees and spread greenery.

In conclusion, although building new homes is deemed indispensable by some communities, I assert that city planners should introduce the expansion of green spaces into the city planning considering environmental sustainability.
